Oxbow Animal Health® Essentials® Young Guinea Pig Food

Food for young guinea pigs, made of alfalfa hay to provide an optimal level of protein and indispensable for digestion and essential ingredients have been added to support growth, gestation and lactation. Vitamin C has also been added.

Used to feed young and growing guinea pigs, as well as gestating and lactating females.

Growing pets (less than 6 months): offer the pellets at will every day, as well as unlimited access to fresh water.

For gestation or lactating females: Offer the pellets at will every day, as well as unlimited access to fresh water and hay grass. Alfalfa hay can be offered in small amounts at a treat.

Guinea pig nutrition should be composed of 75% hay grass.

To transition towards a new food, proceed as described below:

Week 1: Mix 3 parts of the old food with 1 part of the new food;

Week 2: Mix 2 parts of the old food with 2 parts of the new food;

Week 3: Mix 1 part of the old food with 3 part of the new food;

Week 4 and following weeks: Feed exclusively with the adult rabbit food Oxbow Animal Health®     Essentials®.

Indicated quantities are to be used only as guideline. If the animal has a excess weight or seems underweight, please consult a veterinarian. Always do a transition to introduce a new food to give time for the digestive tract to get used to the new food.
