Pipolino® The Virtual Hunting Field

Interactive feeder for cats in the form of a cylinder that we fill with dry food which releases the food pellets from openings when the cat chases it and taps on it. The number of holes may be modified to increase or reduce the degree of difficulty.

It is suitable for the majority of dry cat foods with the exception dental formulas for which the pellets are generally larger than the regular ones.

May be used from the age of 2 months.

May hold the equivalent of a 4 day ration which makes it practical for weekends.

It is silent, robust* and without risk to the furniture.

Used to:

Increase the activity of cats who are overweight and reduce the consumption of excess amounts of food;

Enrich the environment and reduce the boredom of cats by stimulating their natural hunting instinct and stimulating mental and physical activity;

Help correct certain behavioral problems such as excessive vocalization, demanding attention, clawing, aggression, etc.

To introduce :

1. First, remove all other food sources, including treats.
2. Fill the Pipolino® with your cat’s daily portion of dry food.
3. Adjust the Pipolino® to the most open position (12 holes) and tie the screw to fix it in place.
4. Place the Pipolino® on the ground near the wall in the area where the food bowl used to be.
5. Leave some food pellets on the floor between the Pipolino® and the wall or under the Pipolino®**.
6. Leave the cat alone with the Pipolino® (voir la section Recommandation).
7. If the cat refuses to use the Pipolino®, repeat step 5 and leave more food on the ground.
8. On subsequent days, if the Pipolino® is empty, fill it with your cat’s daily portion of food. Gradually reduce the number of open holes by adjusting the Pipolino® in order to allow the minimum amount of pellets to come out at once and allow the cat to do the maximum of physical exercise. If some unconsumed pellets remain on the floor, reduce the number of holes more rapidly.
9. Once the maximum difficulty is achieved (depending on the size of the pellets used), we can fill the Pipolino® with up to 4 days of food supply.
10. If we want the other cats of the house to use the Pipolino® as well, follow the same instruction and introduce the Pipolino® to each cat individually. In many cases the other cats will imitate the first one to use it without the need for instruction.

Ideally, make the introduction of the Pipolino® before going to bed because cats do not like to be distracted or observed when they hunt.

It may take several days before your cat decides to use the Pipolino®. You must not give him access to other sources of food during the introduction. However, a cat should not be deprived of food for more than 2 days or his health may suffer. This is particularly true for obese cats. Consequently, if the cat refuses to use the Pipolino® after 2 days you should put ¼ cup of food on the floor between the Pipolino® and the wall.

You should not roll the Pipolino® in front of the cat so as not to frighten him.

*Since the Pipolino® was designed to be rolled by a cat, it could break if it falls on the floor. Avoid using it in the proximity of the stairs.

Keep out of the reach of young children.

Although the Pipolino® is ideal for small dogs who lack exercise or eat too fast, it should never be used by a dog large enough to take it in his mouth.

**Food must be left between the Pipolino® and the wall or under the Pipolino® in order to incite the cat to use it and, during training, ensure that he eats the pellets that have been deposited.

Pipolino®

Small (0.2 kg): Suitable for rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, small rodents, kittens and very small dogs.

Regular (0.5 kg): Suitable for cats and small adult dogs.
